basically the exploit allows you to ganna shit malware by visiting websites which displays these VML graphics which are altered to install the shitty malwares.

Read from the vjc alumni monthly newsletter, it says she’s from 04s21. Which means… she takes maths, fmaths, physics and econs. hmm.. She doesn’t look like a maths student to me, but nvm, chio can liao. Don’t you just love s2 ppl.. so chio. hahaha. too bad im from s3. but nvm, get to meet them quite often in maths lessons.

hmm. I wonder if it’s the same case for mac os X vs windows as with the case with IE vs firefox. Just because less people uses it, that’s why no one is targetting it. If that’s the case, then me using firefox will be under the false sense of security… Especially when if the exploit is on javascript instead of firefox.

What if firefox/mac os X gained enough popularity to make it worth hacking? Will it be the IE and windows of today? Hmm… somemore the large collection of plugins in firefox also make me a bit worried. What if the plugin itself has a loophole? Do the security ppl check the plugins as well? or they just patch the security holes in the bare browser?

hmmmmmmmmm…….. nevermind. we shall know as time goes by. HAHAHAHA procrastinating.

oh yes. another good thing happened. I recovered most of the data from my spoilt harddisk.

freaking $180 for 70GB recovered. I don’t know if this is cheap or not, but definitely seem cheaper than the minimum $200 I’ve seen from professional data recovery companies.

But of course there’s a trade off. And that is relatively poor service… I had to personally call them several times to check if they are done. And they didn’t notify me and proceeded with the recovery. And when they finally called me.. it’s more than a week.

This is how they charge: $80 for first 20GB, $20 for subsequent 10GB of data.

No free advertisement for them here, but it’s a shop in sim lim square. So… yar. Ask them for more details before proceeding. If not, need to wait long long. And possible further data corruption if lands in hands of noobs.

Total damage in this episode of crashed hdd:

$269 (cost of 2 new hdd for raid1) + $68 (3.5 inch external hdd casing for SATA hdd) + $180 (data recovery)

= $517 (easily the cost of one new 19 inch LCD monitor, possibly a widescreen 20 inch too)

Lesson learnt: backup. NOW.

I got the orink inks from the delivery guy who happened to live around my area, so I got it a day earlier. IT WORKS! HAHAHAHAHA

No more expensive original ink cartridges for me… hehe Now I print my notes in full color. Muahahahahaha. As to every cheat code, there is a downside, and that is I got to release the ink detection function, from the software I cannot tell if my ink is running out or not. So I had to physically check them every now and then. Oh well, it’s just a bit marfan, but save lots of money lor!

One original color cartridge costs $20. The whole set of orink inks consisting of 3 colors, 2 blacks (my black are 2 distinct blacks, not the same) costs only $36! with the option of buying the second set at 50% off! and that’s $18 ! cheaper than 1 original color cartridge!

YAY. happy.

I found a 3rd party / OEM as they like to call themselves…. ink maker for my printer! Canon MP500. Coooool.

Orink guys. Orink. Sepoms is too slow to come out with something… and they don’t really seem as good.

The problem however in Singapore is… the inks are only available at their office. Near outram mrt station. Free delivery if above $30. I don’t know if we still need the delivery since we are already at their office liao.

So guys with this good printer can finally get cheap inks. YAY. Cheers. btw another popular model that uses the same type of ink is canon ip4200. So yar… take a look ok?

I’m going down to buy soon. If it REALLY works… then I’ll post again to confirm. =D

Friday, went to the botak jones at clementi. I had the botak burger. Taste ok. Not fantastically great as somehow described by others. Junxiong ate the Giant Chilli Dawg. Seems better. At least the garlic chilli thing on top of it seems nice. So after the short meal, I asked Junxiong: So how? Are you going to come back here to eat again? Reply was: Let’s try the ang mo kio branch. HAHAHA So there you have it, we are not really very impressed by the food. The beef patty taste like burger king except bigger, much bigger. Perhaps Burger King wish to work on this aspect, especially when its burgers are shrinking in size, but the price kept increasing over the years.
