suspecting my bittorrent speed is getting slower and slower…
I switched from my previous firmware hypertwrt thibor version to dd wrt v23 sp2.
screenshot of the status router page from the version of dd wrt which I’m currently using.
Basically it offers more customizable options to the linksys WRT54G router which I have… version 3.1 than the hyperwrt which is already quite good… mainly static dhcp.
For bittorrent users like myself, static dhcp is almost a must, though you have options to set static ip, but static dhcp is defnitely much better.
One thing I realised about the dd wrt is that it gives me so much more info about my router like the active ip connections which is needed to monitor my utorrent torrent files.. And also to tell me the cpu clock, which you can overclock. But I didn’t for fear of killing my router.
So back to the bittorrent speed which is the reason why I’m choosing to switch… basically it’s the same as hyperwrt. LOL. so much for the trouble eh… But at least it’s not slower, and I get so much more info which I’m quite curious about at times…
So ya… for users of linksys wrt54G… my advise is to freaking ditch that lousy official linksys firmware which at last check don’t even offer static dhcp…
choose a third party one like dd wrt or hyperwrt. Get the latest version though.
use google to find. or which ever search engine u prefer.
