Went back to school briefly today. Saw Ms Grace (Chong? I think)… again. Everytime see her even when not intended to. Wonder why, but she’s doing well, healthy and all. I noticed some teachers wearing the same top as her, like some coach top with the sch logo on it… Didn’t chat much as I wanted to quickly walk through the school.
Basically albert hong hall was torn down and rebuilt, along with the canteen and the space in front of gymnasium. The new building is the cca hub according to Ms Grace. Not as nice as I would like it to be, but the track’s all gone. Replacing it is a field … rugby field, with artificial grass. At first I thought was real grass, but Ms Grace pointed out that the grass is artificial. Not believing, I went to walk on it and take a closer look. It’s not the astroturf type of lousy artificial. It’s the good one, and it has bands of dark and light green, very professional… rugby field. Sian. Not that I don’t like it, just that I felt it was a blatent effort to show support for rugby as the core sport. I see the softballers training there, totally not our type of ground to be training at. No clay, the artificial grass probably would make the pitcher not drag the feet better… not realistic. Whatever. The building itself, including the new hall, don’t know what it’s called, is not really nice. The new track is over on the other side, at raffles junior college side. Very far away, but good sights along the way, like rjc girls sitting with their legs wide open… as usual…. prolly the ri boys would love it. I still prefer vj skirts. Ho Ho. Preference… preference….
Same goes for the linkways connecting the old buildings to the new ones. It’s like… they didn’t have budget to hire a better designer to better integrate the new elements to the old. It’s like blatently attaching something new to something old. Ugly. Don’t like. When I was sitting at the opposite bus stop waiting for bus to go home, I looked at the new canteen area again. Really out of place. The clock tower is beside this whole bunch of glass, which is not classy at all, just soooo wrong. Urgh. Flag poles seemed to moved to a new place, which is pretty conducive to show off your girlfriends as it’s like a main square of sorts. Otherwise it’s just an empty concrete square with no significant architectural design. Hai….
Bottomline is: If you want to spend money and do a facelift, please do a good one. If it’s ugly, might as well save the money to support students’ activities. Let me to wonder if the contractor/designers doing all these changes are insiders…. think NKF. Or are we so budget limited that we can’t hire a better architect.
Just realised my blog color scheme is… green, black, white. Wasn’t intentional. Oh well…..
Auspicium Melioris Aevi.
motorola Razr 2 is now in Singapore!!!!!
but only v8. V9 is not here and won’t be here I think. v8 is very much crippled compared to V9. oh well. sg shit again.
but it’s just $298……..
ate at lao beijing at plaza sing last nite. food is generally good, given tung lok’s standard. 3rd time I’m being asked to join the tung lok membership card thing. First being at teahouse @ china square food centre, second time at Noble House @ UIC building. Not that it’s not good but I do not eat at tung lok often enough I guess, $50 per annum.
Second time I ordered dao xiao mian. First time at some food court in Lot 1 shopping centre. Chui, not nice. Thought the one at lao beijing should be nicer. It is nicer but still not to my taste. I think dao xiao mian…. is really not to my taste. But the scallop and prawn in it are! hahaha
Price is normal… much like crystal jade. $14 ? I think…. thereabout. And while we are at lao beijing, there’s a free bian lian (changing face) performance. Short one. But kinda unexpected. The rest of the food on menu also not really to my liking. I still prefer canto food rather than shanghai or beijing or sichuan.
Lastly, it’s a video link to boa talking on her blog.
original blog post link
I really dun like the natto thing boa talked about. It’s fermented beans if I recall correctly….. urgh. beans is no no… fermented beans is super big NO NO!!
A: why do we fall?
B: So we can learn to pick ourselves up.
A: So what if we fail to learn to pick ourselves up?
B: You suck.
A: Oh crap.
recently (past few months) I’ve realised firefox slowed down a lot. First was on my vista laptop, then I noticed it on my desktop running Windows XP. Of course I thought it was firefox memory leak issues again, but after some observations, I realised it is adobe flash player. Whenever the tab has a flash content, firefox slows down. And the slow down is to varying degrees, sometimes so slow that I scroll down pages are slow. But once I close the tabs with flash contents, namely the BIG ones like big flash advertisements, firefox just jump back to life. There’s some scripting problem with those flash contents, or there’s something wrong with adobe flash player itself. Ever since adobe took over macromedia, this flash problem seem to appear. Hai~
In case some people don’t know, odex is sending warning letters to people downloading their animes. Some noted that even animes that are not theirs also ganna warning letters. Mostly (in fact all…) are singnet users, using bittorrent to download. They suggested using direct download, I don’t know how true is that since direct download can be tracked as well.
Animes that I’m watching: Bleach, Kenichi, Romeo X Juliet.
Bleach 134 is out on dattebayo.
Kenichi 38 is out on kuro hana. up till 34 on doremi.
Romeo X Juliet 14 out on umai.
