I finally have aircon in my room! A cheapo noisy Delonghi portable aircon. HAHAHA Oh well. aircon rocks. Found a thread from hardwarezone forums, here, talks about the database of aircon in singapore. Daikin, hmm, I’ll consider it next time. Nonetheless, wish list achieved!

Another wish achieved is buying of laptop for my aunt. I bought a $899 acer laptop for my aunt, cheap but adequate for her. That’s the price before gst, so people, please check with the shop person for final price. Good buy nonetheless, cheapo laptop. hahaha

Last weekend I went to Singapore Turf club with my mum, was the first time I been there. I always liked horse riding and thought it was cool. But it’s more of a rich man sports in this part of the world unfortunately. However I’m greeted with lots of people there, mainly for horse betting rather than horse riding lovers. Kinda pathetic, but was a nice view to watch the race nonetheless. I recommend people to spend a lazy afternoon there at Kranji, buy the aircon Upper Grandstand tickets for $7 and then just sit there read newspaper or magazine, watching the many races when they start. Note that not everyday or weekend is a horse race in Singapore. Check the turf club website for more info on the race dates.
Had a dinner and drinks at Giraffe, a bar restaurant situated along Orchard Road opposite the Istana. Andrew kindly treated all of us. I always sit in the bus and said to myself, someday I’ll try it even though I know it’s expensive. Indeed it is expensive!! But we got a sofa seat beside the water pond, great ambience, normal western food like burger and calamari. Unexpected wish list achieved as well. hahaha

On good friday, went to Bali Thai at IMM with zhihao and junxiong for dinner. Bowling at Chevron near IMM. Been some time since I bowled. The last time was in Sweden with David, Tito, Sofia, Sang Ho and others. Zhihao never bowled before, I’m quite surprised, but he picked it up pretty fast and achieve 100 pts in the last game. Lots of pretty girls as well, something I always enjoyed. HAHA Great time.

So this was last Sunday, finally got everyone out to walk Botanic Garden. Wanted a picnic, but rained, so we quickly spread the ground sheet and ate quickly. LOL. Totally defeating the whole purpose. Try again next time.

Just went to Courts and bought a portable aircon! I’m so excited, it comes with dehumidifier mode as well, finally I can stay cool and my room will have less dust. Having it installed next week. Another entry on wish list realised. Two thumbs up!

I finally bought the Dlink DNS 323 NAS today. Backing up my files from the desktop, formatting the 2 sata drives in it to be raid 1. Hopefully with the gigabit connection on my laptop and the NAS, if my router does not disappoint me with its gigabit switching, I should be able to backup the files all back to the NAS before I sleep tonight. Thought of putting 2 500gb hdd in but that would be additional costs. Trying out with my current 250gb first.

Wanted to buy 2 $888 compaq amd x2 laptops for my aunt and sister, but I asked today, it went out of stock! Instead they had $999 compaq intel laptops. Not really better. Singaporeans really know good deals when they see one. I’m somehow one step behind, always. Hope I can realise this next week. At least a laptop for my aunt. My sis can wait.

Next thing I want to buy is portable aircon.  EuropAce. Initially wanted to go for split unit in the entire house, but it’s cheaper to go portable aircon after I’ve seen what Davin has. Hope to achieve this 2 weeks from now.

Finally, rewire my entire house power cables, telephone line, tv lines, and add in cat6 ethernet cables with at least 2 RJ45 jacks in every room complete with patch panel near my router. Hope to complete this in June this year.

my desktop suddenly failed me, and refuses to turn on! Gave me a chance to rethink about my computer layout at home. I’m reluctant to fix it now, planning to go for a NAS 2 bay raid 1 setup, and all laptops in my house. The NAS shall serve as my bittorrent drive. Still thinking…. Advise to go all laptops at home?

Last day tomorrow. Laptop deals are really good. Too bad not my turn yet to get a laptop since I just got one last year. Running well. Other than that, lots of people. I turned up on the first day on thursday, and it’s already … a lot of people. My cousin bought 2 compaq laptops (really good specs and price) and 1 asus (good specs too). I prefer the compaq somewhat.
